The Morgan Broth-ers

G’day blog and soup enthusiasts!

I hope you’re all very well indeed. Not too much to report this week, but rest assured we’ve been as busy as ever serving up delicious soups to the people of Winchester.

This week we’ve been producing a delicious Tom Yum. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this Thai delicacy, it’s built from a stock flavoured with fish sauce, aromatic herbs and spices including lemongrass and ginger, and finished with lime juice. The result is a salty, sour and spicy broth, with all the flavours that make Thai food world famous. In Walker, Austen and Alexander they’ve gone a step further and will be serving the soup from a teapot, meaning the herbs infuse right in front of your eyes. The result is beautiful and we’d highly recommend trying one in the next few days.

Another thing we’ve been working on is our branding. As we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we’ve been trying to incorporate Morgans’ into the logo to give us a little more brand identity. Here is what we’ve come up with:

We’re pretty happy with the result, but let us know what you think! We know that the brand will be invaluable as we grow as a company, and we want to create an image that appeals to our target audience, whilst being recognisable from other soup/food brands.

You’ll also be very excited to know that, as per our growth strategy, we’ve been investing hard in capital and are therefore the proud owners of two brand new induction hobs and another pressure cooker. Induction hobs are far more efficient than either gas or electricity, especially with respect to heating liquids, so combined with another pressure cooker, they should greatly increase the speed at which we can produce stocks.

As I mentioned earlier, please do give us any feedback you have (or ideas for spring soups as development begins?!). Have a wonderfully soupy week and we’ll be back here with more exciting updates next week.

Matt and Chris
